Hardworking

My word of intention for 2024 is hardworking. I chose the word hardworking because even if you’re not the best at something you have the choice to be the best worker. The harder you work the more you will grow and improve in the subject you work on. My goal this year is to work hard in baseball, basketball, and strength. If I’m the hardest worker I will pass the kids that were always better than me. If I do fifty pushups, one-hundred squats, and one-hundred curl ups per day I will get stronger than most kids my age while most of them will be playing video games or messing around. Whenever they’re working I’m working, whenever they’re playing I’m still working. Eventually I will start to see changes in myself and will pass every kid that was at first, better than me. If I am hardworking I am setting myself up for success later on in life. In any job you do, you have to be hardworking, I figured getting used to it at a young age will help me later on. If I work hard it will pay off and I can play video games after all the hard work, but I have to work hard first. This is why hardworking is my word for 2024.

Rad Reading-December

In December I read the book The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. It is about the gladers, and instead of getting freedom they have another trial. They have to cross the Scorch, the most burned section of the world while arriving safe in a haven. They are required to do this in two weeks. While already being hard enough Wicked has made it more difficult for the gladers.

I really enjoyed this book because, there are parts that can scare you or catch you off guard, while also having thrilling parts, walking through the dessert was a journey for them, for most readers they may say it was boring. But I believe it has tons of action and thrilling moments at the perfect times to make the book unique and suspenseful.

My favorite character from The Scorch Trials is Thomas. He is the protagonist of the story he is a brave and determined boy from group B. He was supposed kill, and his name is written everywhere around the scorch. Thomas faces many challenges, but he remains smart and uses his brain to stay out of trouble. With this he was able to keep group B from killing him, he is a well educated person and a good talker. One quote from the book I liked Thomas said was “Anyone else wanna pee their pants and cry for mommy?” I like this quote because it shows Thomas leadership and bravery to say that to his group he took control while being wise with his words.

One of my favorite quotes from the story is, “False hope,” she said. “Guess that’s better than no hope at all.” I like this quote because they’re trying to be positive trying to make themselves feel better. This quote can show that we should be grateful and not being so greedy all the time when these people are just happy with “false hope.”

Principal for the Day

Mrs. Tanikawa is out sick and they have asked me to step in as principal for the day. All the kids at school today are in for a treat, because not only will I make this day a day they won’t forget but I will go down in history as the most favored principal ever. At exactly eight o’ clock in the morning there will be donuts being given away to all the kids that go to the school. Being a principal was not as easy as I thought, there were many phone calls and people getting in trouble throughout the day. Since I was bored I decided to visit some classes to see what they were up to, and of course it was just learning. Learning. Learning. Why is being a principal so boring. I felt pretty bad for the kids who have been working hard all day and decided to surprise them with early recess. The kids were so happy all having so much fun and this was what I loved to see. Eventually lunch time came around and I had an activity in mind, I hosted one on ones in basketball and if you score on me you get free tickets to the San Francisco 49ers game. The day eventually came to and end and I could tell the kids had a blast, but I wasn’t finished when school finally came to an end I gave out multiple flavors of ice cream. I’m sure this is a day many students wont forget.

Rad Reading- November

In November, I read the book The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis. This book is about four kids who were sent away to live with a professor. While they were playing a fun game of hide and seek the youngest of the four, Lucy enters a wardrobe into a mysterious land called Narnia. Her siblings did not believe her at first until they found out themselves.

I really liked this book because it is a thrilling book to read filled with adventure, but slight violence. They go into battle against an evil witch fighting along side different creatures. The book is always full of surprises and has a ton of action. Even through all this the siblings always stick together. I really recommend you read this book.

My favorite character in the book is Lucy. Although she is the youngest one she is the bravest and most adventurous out of the four kids. She never stops believing in Narnia, and always has faith. A quote that can prove Lucy is brave is ″‘Why, Sir,’ said Lucy. ‘I think – I don’t know – but I think I could be brave enough.‘” This shows that she is brave enough to go into battle. Although she is the smallest and the youngest she is still the bravest and most courageous.

My favorite quote from the book is when Lucy says, I’m not a dwarf! I’m a girl and actually I’m tallest in my class.” This shows that Lucy acts older than she really is, and she is proud of who she is. Another reason why I like this quote is because it is a humorous moment, this is a quote that most readers would enjoy as the author has a nice sense of humor.

Singing Fish

Just a normal day walking along the ocean shore with my buddies. I can feel myself slowly sinking into the mud as I walk along the shore. My friends begin to scream, I am curious what is happening and sprint over ignoring all the mud splattering all on my clothes and shoes. The first thing I notice is three fish squirming trying to find its way back into the water, flopping up and down like crazy. At first it was pretty gross, but it was pretty hilarious. It was almost as if they were singing at an opera with their mouths wide open jumping up and down like they were performing for us. Of course, we ended up returning the three little fish to shore. It was a crazy experience and something I bet none of us will ever forget.

I am Thankful

I am thankful for many things this year, but here are the three top things. One thing I am very thankful for is my family. I am thankful for each and everyone of them, including my brother, sister, mom, dad, and grandparents. My sister is very kind, caring and supportive and she has so much energy. My brother keeps me entertained whenever I am bored wether that is going outside to shoot some hoops, or play mini hoop inside. My mom and dad are both very supportive, they both work very hard for me and my siblings and are always caring. My grandparents all support me in what I do and they make me happy. Another thing I am thankful for is my cousins and their family. My aunt is always there to support me and she has been taking care of me ever since I was born. My uncle is awesome to hang out with because I just love talking with him about sports because we have a lot of things in common. My two cousins are always fun to hang out with and this is why I am thankful for them. Lastly, I am thankful for friends. They keep me company and are always fun to hang out with when I am bored. Without them life would be pretty boring and not fun. These are three things I am thankful for.

If I had Three Wishes

A genie has given me three wishes! With the three wishes the genie has given me I will attempt to use them wisely. With my first wish I will ask for an unlimited amount of money. My parents can both stop working and me an my siblings no longer have to go to school. We can all go on many vacations and travel the world. Along with always eating at a very fancy restaurant and having a very nice house. With my second wish I would want luck to always be on my side, for example I will have the ability to predict who would win the Super Bowl even if the team is terrible. While playing sports for fun such as basketball I will be able to make every single shot whatever the circumstances. Playing baseball will be a breeze every pitch I get will be a home run. With my last wish, I’d want to have the ability to teleport. If I had the ability to teleport I could travel anywhere within seconds. I wouldn’t have to wait in traffic and I wont have to sit in the annoying long plane rides. If I’m ever in danger I could instantly teleport anywhere I’d want. These are my three wishes I would choose If I had the opportunity too.

Rad Reading- October

In October, I read the book The Maze Runner by James Dashner. The Maze Runner is about Thomas along with other teenagers, randomly teleported into a stoned maze. Their memory has been erased. Thomas and the other teenagers are required to work together if they want a chance at escape of them maze, and survival.

I really enjoyed the book as it was full of action and suspense, there was always something new each chapter and it makes you just want to not stop reading it! The teenagers had to work together and they couldn’t give up at any point if they wanted to escape. The plot is engaging and very interesting. Which is why i enjoyed the book.

My favorite character from the book is Thomas. He is my favorite character because he has a desire to fight for his own survival and his peers. Thomas is trustworthy and reliable. Which is why the other teenagers trust him. I can prove this because in the book The Maze Runner it states “Thomas rocked back on his heels, then ran his arm across his forehead, wiping away the sweat. And at that moment, in the space of only a few seconds, he learned a lot about himself. About the Thomas that was before. He couldn’t leave a friend to die. This shows Thomas cares a lot about his peers, and people can rely on him and trust him. Which is why he is my favorite character.

My favorite quote from The Maze Runner is “No you don’t get it. They’re weeding us out seeing if we’ll give up, finding the best of us…trying to make us quit. Testing our ability to hope and fight. Sending Teresa here and shutting everything down was only the last part, one more final analysis. Now it’s time for the last test. To escape.” I like this quote because it shows that they will not give up and their only goal is to escape. That is the only two things on their mind, don’t give up, and escape.

All Star Mookie

If I could trade places with a famous person for the day it would be Mookie Betts. Mookie is a thirty-one year old star outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, a professional baseball team and hits first in the lineup. I would want to trade places with Mookie Betts because he is one of the best to ever play the game of baseball. I’d enjoy the feeling of stepping up to home plate in front of thousands of fans, I could imagine the announcer calling me up to the plate at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. With the amount of money I have I would spend my off days watching sports, for example I could drive to a Lakers game and get court side seats to watch LeBron and his team get the win. After the game, I know I need a good night sleep in my master bed room for the baseball game tomorrow. Why that was the best sleep I have ever gotten in my life.

My Perfect Day

My teacher has asked me to write about my perfect day and this is what it would be like. The very first thing I would do is wake up in my soft and cozy bed after a good night sleep, waking up at exactly 9:30AM. As I make my way down the stairs I hear the doorbell ring and I can already smell Chick-Fil-A at my door. I immediately open the door and bring in the food with excitement. After I finish my lovely breakfast, my dad surprises me with tickets to todays matchup of the year, the San Francisco 49ers vs the Buffalo Bills at Levi Stadium. “This is great!” I exclaim. We’d better get going I thought, the game starts at noon. As we are driving to the game, I see a marvelous few peeking down a mountain and the best thing is there was no traffic at all driving to San Francisco. While we are watching the players warmup we get a fabulous surprise. A couple seats in front I can see LeBron James, as I walk up to him to get a photo I realize how massive he is. We take a photo and the game is about to start. “Let’s go Niners” I can hear from the crowd, they start on defense and Josh Allen first play throws the ball right to Fred Warner. Interception! By half time the score is already thirty to zero 49ers, and before I know it I can see on the board. Final score Niners forty and Bills seven. A blowout. On the drive home I am so pumped up and I yell “This is the best day ever!” It is very late and time for bed. I can’t wait to tell my friends about the day I had today.
