All Star Mookie

If I could trade places with a famous person for the day it would be Mookie Betts. Mookie is a thirty-one year old star outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, a professional baseball team and hits first in the lineup. I would want to trade places with Mookie Betts because he is one of the best to ever play the game of baseball. I’d enjoy the feeling of stepping up to home plate in front of thousands of fans, I could imagine the announcer calling me up to the plate at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. With the amount of money I have I would spend my off days watching sports, for example I could drive to a Lakers game and get court side seats to watch LeBron and his team get the win. After the game, I know I need a good night sleep in my master bed room for the baseball game tomorrow. Why that was the best sleep I have ever gotten in my life.

My Perfect Day

My teacher has asked me to write about my perfect day and this is what it would be like. The very first thing I would do is wake up in my soft and cozy bed after a good night sleep, waking up at exactly 9:30AM. As I make my way down the stairs I hear the doorbell ring and I can already smell Chick-Fil-A at my door. I immediately open the door and bring in the food with excitement. After I finish my lovely breakfast, my dad surprises me with tickets to todays matchup of the year, the San Francisco 49ers vs the Buffalo Bills at Levi Stadium. “This is great!” I exclaim. We’d better get going I thought, the game starts at noon. As we are driving to the game, I see a marvelous few peeking down a mountain and the best thing is there was no traffic at all driving to San Francisco. While we are watching the players warmup we get a fabulous surprise. A couple seats in front I can see LeBron James, as I walk up to him to get a photo I realize how massive he is. We take a photo and the game is about to start. “Let’s go Niners” I can hear from the crowd, they start on defense and Josh Allen first play throws the ball right to Fred Warner. Interception! By half time the score is already thirty to zero 49ers, and before I know it I can see on the board. Final score Niners forty and Bills seven. A blowout. On the drive home I am so pumped up and I yell “This is the best day ever!” It is very late and time for bed. I can’t wait to tell my friends about the day I had today.

Eighteen Forever

I would want to be eighteen years old forever. Eighteen is a great age to be because you are still young and healthy, while being the most athletic you will ever be. I would love to be able to get drafted into the MLB at a young age because then you have more potential than others, and everybody is always best when they’re young. Imagine being eighteen forever and always being able to play the sport that you love without coming out of retirement. Another reason why I’d like to be eighteen forever is because I’d be able to drive around town and buy myself groceries, go to the park with my family, or even drive to my own baseball games. At eighteen years old you can make decisions on your own, while still being a kid. It would be a great experience to go to college as my parents told me it was a magnificent experience. If I do not end up being a baseball player I could start my own business and become an Orthodontist. These are a few reasons why I would like to be the age eighteen forever.

Living the Dream in Cooperstown, New York

I get on my plane ride, me and my family are ready to travel to Cooperstown in New York. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a direct flight to Cooperstown, so instead we made a quick stop in Boston. We went and took pictures at Harvard University, way too many pictures. I’m pretty sure it was the most boring four hours of my life while driving to New York, but the drive was quite worth it. Once we got there I caught up with all of my friends on my baseball team and the fields were wonderful. The place was packed, and I mean it. There were around 80 different baseball teams, the kids were about double our size. I had a premonition about playing some of these teams. The first thing we did was the most boring thing at the field we ever did, pictures! We were clad in baseball pants and a very uncomfortable jersey. Here we go, our first game of the tournament. I gingerly told myself to calm down as I was getting overly excited. I remember feeling the smooth grass and touching the rigid wall. The moment has come, my first at bat. First pitch, I take it out. I am pumped and so are my teammates. I touch every base and the moment I touch home everyone goes crazy. I’ve gotten used to the idea of being here, the hot weather, the pouring rain, and the horrendous food. It’s only a few days until our time here is over. We get a lot done so fast, and before I know it it’s our last game in Cooperstown, New York. We take our last breath before walking off the field and say our last goodbyes. Though the trip is not over we will miss the field. When we leave we enjoy ice cream, go swimming, eat pizza, explore the forest, eat tacos, and stay up late. This was an amazing and memorable trip I won’t forget.

Rad Reading- September

In September I read the book Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan. The book Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is about a thirteen year old boy named Percy trying to rescue his friend Grover and retrieve an item called the Golden Fleece to protect their camp, but in order to do this they must retrieve the Gold Fleece from a large Cyclops, that will consume practically any human it finds. As the son of Poseidon he decides to go on a long journey across the sea to save camp half blood, along with his friends Annabeth and Tyson.

I really enjoyed the book, for the most part it was full of suspense and something new always came. I like how although Percy was not chosen to go and retrieve the Golden Fleece, he still took charge and was determined to save the camp. The adventure to get to the cyclops was very difficult and they came across many challenges, such as facing insanely large sea monsters yet still got to where they needed to go.

Percy is by far my favorite character, I say this because he is the leader of the group and is trying to be positive. He wants to show everyone that he is the best Demi god, by retrieving the Golden Fleece. They came across many difficulties along the way such as crossing the Sea of Monsters. Percy stayed calm and believed in himself throughout the journey. I really like Percy because he is brave and protective. Percy is brave and I can prove this because in the book Percy says, “Tyson stay back.” I raised my sword. “I’m going in.” This shows how Percy was brave enough to get into a fight and protect his friends from danger, risking his life for his friends.

My favorite quote from Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters is When Hermes said, “My dear cousin, if there’s anything I learned from the eons it is that, you can’t give up on your family, no matter how tempting they make it.” This is significant because it gives the readers a lesson when reading the book, telling them that you can never give up on your family, he also reminds his cousin how important it is to not give up on his family no matter how tempting something is. I like this quote a lot since it is also a life lesson all readers could learn.
