Rad Reading-December

In December I read the book The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. It is about the gladers, and instead of getting freedom they have another trial. They have to cross the Scorch, the most burned section of the world while arriving safe in a haven. They are required to do this in two weeks. While already being hard enough Wicked has made it more difficult for the gladers.

I really enjoyed this book because, there are parts that can scare you or catch you off guard, while also having thrilling parts, walking through the dessert was a journey for them, for most readers they may say it was boring. But I believe it has tons of action and thrilling moments at the perfect times to make the book unique and suspenseful.

My favorite character from The Scorch Trials is Thomas. He is the protagonist of the story he is a brave and determined boy from group B. He was supposed kill, and his name is written everywhere around the scorch. Thomas faces many challenges, but he remains smart and uses his brain to stay out of trouble. With this he was able to keep group B from killing him, he is a well educated person and a good talker. One quote from the book I liked Thomas said was “Anyone else wanna pee their pants and cry for mommy?” I like this quote because it shows Thomas leadership and bravery to say that to his group he took control while being wise with his words.

One of my favorite quotes from the story is, “False hope,” she said. “Guess that’s better than no hope at all.” I like this quote because they’re trying to be positive trying to make themselves feel better. This quote can show that we should be grateful and not being so greedy all the time when these people are just happy with “false hope.”
